October for me means Halloween, which of course means I won’t pass up the chance to do a horror game Community Game-Along! If you want to get in the spooky spirit, grab a horror game or any kind of creepy title and join in the festivities by playing it throughout the month of October!

Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony First Impressions
The rest of 2017 is a whirlwind of game releases and I’m already behind on reviews, so it’s time to bring back first impressions! If you haven’t seen a first impressions post on Chic Pixel before, they’re basically a way for me to share my initial thoughts with a game before (or sometimes in lieu of) a full review. In the case of Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony, one of my most anticipated games of the year, I just have to let you know what I think so far! If you’re a fan of Danganronpa and on the fence about whether you can jump into the series here, here are my spoiler-free first impressions!
Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia Review
Despite hearing many good things about the Fire Emblem series, particularly after the release of Awakening for the 3DS, I’ve never played any of the games. When Nintendo announced that Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia would be the final Fire Emblem title to come out on the 3DS, I figured it was about time to try the series out for myself!
Romoss ACE 10 and Q Series Power Bank Review
I’ll never forget the time I was in Melbourne for a conference and by 5 pm, my phone was only at 10% battery. I would’ve run back to my hotel room, but I had plans to meet some of the other participants for dinner, and I really needed to get my networking on! But if my phone ran out of charge, how would I find my way back to the hotel?! In the end, I turned off my phone until I absolutely needed it, but all that unnecessary stress could’ve been avoided if I just had a power bank with me!
Romoss was kind enough to send two of their popular power banks to me to review: the extremely portable Q Series power bank, and the powerful ACE 10 power bank. If you play a lot of apps on your phone, need a power bank for international travel, or just want to make sure your devices last through a long day out, read on!
September 2017 Community Game-Along: SRPGs
Happy September, everyone! I always love a good Community Game-Along theme that rolls right off the tongue, which is why this year’s pick for September is SPRGs! Play any strategy or tactical turn-based role playing game and share your experiences with #SRPGSeptember on social media to join in the fun!
If you’re not sure where to start, read on for a few game suggestions from me. Feel free to add some of your own in the comments!
Splatoon 2 Review
Despite the fact that my Wii U generally got much less play time than my other consoles, Splatoon was by far my most-played game of 2015. In my roundup of my favorite games of 2015 I mentioned that I hoped the Splatoon IP was here to stay. Since it’s only 2 years later and Nintendo has already released Splatoon 2 for the Nintendo Switch, I think it’s safe to say it is!
Earlier in the year, I didn’t forsee myself buying a Switch before next year at the earliest. Though I loved the original Splatoon, I thought I could hold off playing the sequel since it didn’t bring anything drastically new to the table. While the latter may be true, the former most certainly wasn’t!
August 2017 Community Game-Along: Mech Games
Hello August! Though it’s always sad to see JRPG July go, it’s time to move on to yet another Community Game-Along event. This month we’ll be focusing on mech games, or any games featuring big robots that you can control! Of course, there’s always classic mech series such as Armored Core and MechWarrior, but even Kirby’s recent 3DS venture, Kirby: Planet Robobot counts for this month’s theme!
