The holiday season is coming up fast, so that means it’s time for a new Chic Pixel Holiday Gift Guide! Each year I round up my favorite cute and nerdy gift suggestions for every budget. This year, I’ve decided to break my suggestions into two categories: “For the Video Game Fan” and “For the Anime Fan.” Many of the links included are affiliate links, so by clicking on them to make your holiday purchases, you’re also helping to support Chic Pixel! Thanks for spreading the holiday cheer!
To celebrate the end of JRPGJuly Community Game-Along, you can get 25% off all items in my TeePublic curator store, Chic Pixel Picks, until the end of the month! Here are a few more of my favorites:
Well look at that! It’s nearly the end of February, but here I am posting about my January favorites. When I took on the (self-imposed) task of posting a 4-part guide to blogging every week for the month of February, I may have underestimated how much time would be involved… But I wouldn’t want to miss out on sharing my favorite things from last month! This month’s favorites will be short and sweet since my February favorites will go up in two weeks, but there’s still a lot to be excited about!
Now this is exciting news! For a limited time, Tokyo Otaku Mode is offering the chance to become a member of the previously Japan-exclusive official Sailor Moon club, Pretty Guardians! But you’ll need to act fast, as the opportunity to register will only be available for a limited time starting on September 23rd. Head on over to the official Tokyo Otaku Mode Sailor Moon Fan Club site to register your email address to be updated when international signups are live.
Japan Crate was kind enough to send me their very first Doki Doki Crate, a new subscription service for fans of all things cute! I was extremely impressed with their Japanese candy subscription box when I reviewed it back in September, so I was very excited to see how this kawaii box compared. Let’s take a look!
Happy new year and welcome to the first Sunday Spotlight of 2016! This week I wanted to highlight an internet friend who is very inspirational to me (and I am secretly hoping to channel more in 2016). Natsukigirl always posts colorful photos of their Japanese games, toys, manga collection, and all-around cute stuff, and I seriously can’t get enough of it! They can be found in a variety of places on the internet (that I’ll link to at the end of this post), but for their photography, I highly recommend their Instagram for tons of cute stuff like this:
In addition, if you’re a fan of Yokai Watch, they make all kinds of content for Watch of Yokai, a Yokai Watch fan site. I admit I haven’t been bitten by the yokai bug yet, but natsukigirl’s merchandise photos are always super cute!
You can also find natsukigirl on Twitter, Tumblr, and their personal site, in addition to Instagram. Just don’t blame me if you suddenly develop an interest in cute Japanese dolls and Yokai Watch medals!
Anyone with a Nintendo 3DS, or any handheld gaming console, knows that to keep your expensive purchase looking good as new, protection is a must. But who wants to look at at a boring, plain, store bought case? Flea Circus Designs offers a wide range of handmade handheld cases based on adorable video game characters from Pokémon to Animal Crossing, as well as custom designs, proving that handheld cases can be both adorable and functional. Be sure to read to the end for details on how you can receive $5 off your purchase!
