Let me start this post off by saying: sometimes when you’re pals with Anne, she will ask you to be a surrogate plant parent to a vegetable ikemen boyfriend. She will ask you what your vegetable boyfriend type will be. Don’t resist. Give her your address. Receive the above box in the mail. This is my duty as official Tokyo correspondent to Chic Pixel, and I will take up any and all responsibilities, be it sampling various themed cafés or tenderly growing an anime boyfriend.

The Newest Humble Weekly Bundle Includes… A Hatoful Boyfriend Body Pillow?
In what might very well be the best Humble Weekly Bundle ever to exist, the charity game bundle is offering not only a plethora of quality games at a pay-what-you-want price, but a Hatoful Boyfriend body pillow, as well.
You can grab the lovely body pillow featuring Ryouta and both pigeon and human form by spending $35 or more on the bundle, which is quite the steal! In Japan, body pillows often go for upwards of $100, and though you’re only getting the pillow case for $35, it should be easy enough to find a suitable pillow.
The body pillow will be made to order by The Yetee, who have a great record of offering quality t-shirts at affordable prices. Unfortunately, while worldwide shipping is included in the $35, the Humble Weekly Bundle page states that it may take 3 to 6 months for orders to ship.
Of course, spending $35 won’t just get you an awesome pigeon body pillow, but a slew of great visual novel and simulation games, as well! You can pay any price you desire to receive Long Live the Queen, Analogue: A Hate Story, and Go! Go! Nippon ~My First Trip to Japan~, or spend more than the average and also get WORLD END ECONOMiCA episode.01, Hate Plus, and Roommates – Deluxe Edition. Finally, all that and Hatoful Boyfriend can also be yours for the low price of $8!
Finally, for the low price of nothing, the Humble Weekly Bundle is offering a set of adorable Valentine’s Day cards. You can head over to the official site and enter your email address to download the full set, but I’ve uploaded the best one here for your viewing pleasure!
Of course, I had to go the whole nine yards and get the body pillow, so now I’m swimming in duplicate game codes! As such, I’ve added Long Live the Queen to the Valentine’s Day giveaway I’m currently running – if you haven’t entered yet, please do check it out!
Shop Spotlight: BeagleCakes Art & Illustration
I’m always excited to find a new artist or crafter, so I was thrilled to learn about Maggie Tsou and her adorable brand BeagleCakes!
What I love about Maggie’s style is it’s unique while at the same time having a definite kawaii Japanese-inspired aesthetic. She specializes in illustration, but her Etsy shop stocks everything from super cute stickers to miniature acrylic sweets accessories.
The stickers arrived surprisingly quickly – though I was given an estimate of 3 weeks for them to arrive, they came within a week and a half! Maggie was really pleasant to communicate with, which is always a bonus when shopping at a small business, in my opinion. Her prices are very reasonable, too, with a stack of 12-15 stickers of various designs running only a few dollars. Needless to say, I highly recommend her Etsy store! Here are a few of my favorite items:
Puppy and bunny cupcake stickers! |
Alpaca stickers! |
Painted wooden kitty keychain! |
She has many more items available, such as sketch and illustration commissions, tons of adorable stickers (including Sailor Moon ones!), and lots more. Be sure to follow her on Twitter, Facebook, and Tumblr to stay updated on her new products! She has stores on both Etsy and Storenvy.
A shirt I love but don’t have the guts to buy
Well, I’m going to bite the bullet and make a post. I promised myself I wouldn’t post anything until I finished my book review, but that’s taking longer than I want it to and I don’t like going so long without posting anything. Since I don’t really have anything prepared today, I’m going to show you guys this awesome shirt by a tip-top artist, Kate Beaton (go check out her site if you have a minute, her latest Spiderman comics are too funny).
If you’d like to purchase one of these gems for yourself, head here. I honestly would, but I’m too meek to go around offending everyone that looks at me. This shirt truly speaks to me, though, so it’s a darn shame (I’m not a heartless monster, I swear).
I’ll also share with you one of my all-time favorite comics by the lovely Ms. Beaton (props if you know what it’s referencing!):
Ahhhh, that puts a smile on my face every time. But that’s all for now, sorry! I’m going to get this review done if it kills me. I know you’re all probably dying to know what I think about all the latest E3 news, but I think I’ve tweeted about it enough. Just click the link on the right sidebar to head over to my Twitter account and read all about it.
