Code: Realize English version on the way courtesy of Aksys Games

It’s raining otome games! First, Idea Factory International announced plans to release Amnesia: Memories for PS Vita and Steam this August, and now Aksys Games is following up with another Otomate title, Code: Realize! According to the announcement on the Official PlayStation Blog, the game will be released both on PSN and physically for the PS Vita sometime this fall.

I recently lamented the fact that Idea Factory International still hadn’t announced an otome game localization (this was before Amnesia: Memories), but the article could really have been directed at any publisher, so I’m extremely happy to see Aksys Games following suit. The fact that Code: Realize is the third otome game IP Aksys has localized says a lot for how well the genre is doing for the publisher, which is extremely exciting.

Whatever you say, amazingly good-looking man!

Last year, I even wrote that Code: Realize was one otome game I wanted to play before the end of the year, as its steampunk aesthetic and use of famous literary characters as romance options (Arsène Lupin! Victor Frankenstein!) looked like a lot of fun. The use of recognizeable characters may help the game appeal to a broader English-speaking audience than, say, Amnesia: Memories, so it will be really interesting to see how the two fare.

Aksys Games will be launching the official Code: Realize site shortly (update: the English site is now live), but in the meantime, you can head to the Japanese website for some promotional videos, wallpapers, Twitter icons, and all kinds of fun materials.

About Anne

Also known as apricotsushi. Anne can be written with the kanji for apricot (杏), and sushi was the most quintessentially Japanese thing I could think of when I was 13, resulting in my goofy, albeit memorable, nickname.

  1. Great news! I looked into the game a while ago and thought it seemed interesting. Glad I didn’t order it right away. Last month I ordered Amnesia while thinking “bet they’ll localize this the moment it hits the doormat” and we all know how that turned out lol.
EU gets Digital Download only but thanks to Sony and their regionfree Vita I could just go for the physical US copy if I want.

    1. Aw, it sounds like you have the same curse I do! I literally just ordered Code: Realize last month myself. Whoops!
Region free on the Vita is great ^^ It would be lovely if the 3DS were the same…

  2. I’m sorry…I was going to tweet this to you earlier but I was busy playing Magic Knight Rayeart and then you found out anyway so 🙂 But hey! Now we’ll get otome games for everyone ^^ And with VNs selling well on the little Vita perhaps social media* was right and there where tons of women playing it and will play this as well 🙂

    Btw love the new site.

*Social Media as in analysing data from Facebook/Twitter that talked about Danganronpa

    1. Playing Magic Knight Rayeath, eh? Do you mean the Saturn game?

Is this social media analysis your own, or do you mean what you’ve heard from companies? 😉 I certainly won’t say I think it’s a HUGE market, but it’s great to see that the games released so far have done well enough to merit a few more releases!

And I’m glad you like the new site!

      1. Saturn yepp ^^ Found a CIB for €10, the stickers where unused Anne! Unused!!

Social media analysing was from a Swedish company. Unfortunately it never said if this was a Swedish/European or World wide thing. Well they did release the full report on sales last month(we don’t do NPD crap) but They haven’t re-published the gender analytics’s 🙁 So either they found it faulty or they are finally regressing back and will be demanding money for it 🙁

        1. Wow, what a steal!! I’ve always wanted to play it but I’ve never had a Sega Saturn.

Hm, that’s interesting! Too bad there might be a problem with it tho >_>

          1. ohh, I’m to scared to play to much on the Saturn. I nearly always end up ripping it and emulating.
The sad part about disc based systems is that the moving parts degrade :/ But yeah it was a Steal ^^ I mean, THE STICKERS! Now if I will use them or just stare at them from time till time is a different thing ^^
Please ignore my dirty nail, it’s either from gardening or from or Snus ^^

          2. Wow yeah that is rad!! I’d be too scared to use them! Haha. I do agree that sometimes it’s just nice to have the game (so you can admire the lovely packaging) and then emulate rather than play on the actual system.

Be careful or I’m going to end up importing a copy myself!

          3. Import away 😀
IF I find another copy in the same state for €10? I’ll buy it again lol
No questions asked, I’ll buy it and keep it safe from all the scary greasy fingers out there ^^
