It’s that spooky time of year once again! If you’re looking to get in the Halloween spirit, October’s Community Game-Along theme will do the trick. This month, we’re celebrating all things that go bump in the night – namely, horror games!
September 2019 Community Game-Along: Sports Games
In some places, September means the start of the new school year, but here at Chic Pixel, it means it’s time for another Community Game-Along! This month, we’re doing another suggestion from the Chic Pixel Pals Discord: sports games!
Sports games are not usually a genre I personally gravitate towards, but that’s why the Community Game-Along themes are so great! It’s the perfect time to try a game you wouldn’t normally play, or check something off your backlog. Plus, there’s such a huge range of sports games, you’re bound to find something you enjoy!
Madfest Brisbane 2019 Recap
If you’ve been listening to the Pixel x Pixel podcast (and if you’re not, you should!), you’ll know that I’ve frequently lamented the fact that I haven’t been to a geek convention in a long time. Well, back in May, I fixed that!
I had the opportunity to go to the Madman Anime Festival, or Madfest, in Brisbane as a media attendee, and I spent both the Saturday and Sunday (May 25-26) seeing everything the convention had to offer. This was my first time attending any Madfest convention, and though it was smaller than I expected (just one hall in the Brisbane Convention Centre), it was packed full of fun!
August 2019 Community Game-Along: Fighting Games
To celebrate Evo 2019, this month’s Community Game-Along is all about fighting games! Fighting games can have a steep learning curve, but they’re a whole lot of fun!
As with every monthly Community Game-Along, participation is easy. Just pick a game that fits the theme and play it sometime during the month! Share your impressions by tweeting, writing a review, doing a live stream, singing a song, or whatever else tickles your fancy! Just be sure to use #FightingGameMonth so others can see it!
