When an English version of Teddy Together was announced earlier this year, I was completely shocked. After the Japanese version came out way back in June 2013, there was not a peep of a localization. All of a sudden, Europe and Australia would be getting the teddy bear simulator fully voiced in English only a few months after the initial localization announcement! While I was initially a little skeptical of the whole premise due to being slightly creeped out by the talking bear character, after spending time with the actual game, I can say it’s actually really cute!
Kyoukai no Shirayuki: Yori Zenno Route Impressions
I’ve finally completed my second route in Kyoukai no Shirayuki! After posting my general impressions along with my thoughts of the first route I completed (Saji Kakeya), I decided the best way to share my thoughts going forward would be to do a writeup of each route as I complete them. It may be a while before I finish all of them, but this way I can be as thorough as possible!
I was really glad @Westraid suggested the hot policeman, Yori Zenno, for my second character, because he turned out to be just as great as he looks. I had to make sure to get my impressions of his route up for his birthday today, too!
Yume Twins Kawaii Subscription Box Review
Now here’s a review I’m really excited for! Well, it’s always great to check out something new, but I’ve been especially eager to try Yume Twins ever since the new kawaii subscription box service was launched earlier this year by the folks behind Tokyo Treat. So far, I’ve only tried one kawaii subscription service, Doki Doki Crate, and I was left rather disappointed by the number of low quality bootleg items it contained (though I hear they have improved greatly since). I got my Yume Twins order in just in time for the September box, which had the theme “new lifestyle.” Let’s see what’s inside!
Date an Ikemen Horse in Uma no Prince-sama
Write just one academic paper on centaurs in BL manga and suddenly everyone is sending you things featuring centaurs! That’s why when my pal @VanishingAge saw Uma no Prince-sama, she immediately thought of me… But wait, this isn’t a centaur at all! It’s a horse with a hot anime guy’s face?! Yes, that’s the premise of Uma no Prince-sama, the latest in whacky romance simulation apps for women.
October 2016 Community Game-Along: Horror Games
Who’s ready for some spooks?! I know I am! After I tried something a little different for last year’s October Community Game-Along theme, I knew we had to return to horror this year. After all, what’s the lead up to Halloween without some scary games? This year, we’re even getting a new Japanese horror game, Yomawari (pictured in the header image) in English just before the end of the month, too!
Since I’ve been flat out this month with thesis work, I hope you forgive me for taking a break from the usual game recommendation list. Basically, if it’s spooky, it counts! You can also check out my recommendations from the 2014 horror Game-Along if you’re stumped for ideas.
The official tag of the month is #HorrorGameOct, so be sure to share all your scares on your social media platform of choice. Remember, even if you don’t have time to play a game, you can still participate by posting whatever horror game goodness you want the world to see using the hashtag (I really love it when people share photos of their collections!). For those of you who do plan on participating, let us know what you’ll be playing to get in the Halloween spirit in the comments!
OyatsuBox August 2016 Review
Oh my, is it really the end of September already?! Wait, winter, come back! (or summer, if you’re a friend in the Northern Hemisphere) Today I’m going to relive August through this very overdue OyatsuBox review, which includes not one, but two cool summer drinks! Even though they probably planned that for customers who were in the height of summer in August, cool drinks are perfect for me now here in Brisbane, where things are just starting to heat up. But regardless of what season it is, I’m always up for some tasty snacks!
Rainbow Alpacasso Review
Hello and welcome to what very well might be my first plushie review! Tokyo Otaku Mode was kind enough to send me one of their official Amuse plushies to review, but I had no idea which one I would get… Well, the cat’s out of the bag since you’ve read the title of this post, but I was thrilled to find a big rainbow Alpacasso inside my Tokyo Otaku Mode box! Check out my unboxing video to see what other fun things they included in the package:
