Video Tutorial: How to Make Kawaii Paper Magnets

8 / 25 / 178 / 25 / 17

Back in July, I shared a picture of a magnet I made by sticking a cute Hakuouki art card on a magnet ad I got in the mail on my Instagram feed. I was really surprised by the positive response I got! I’m really passionate about reusing/recycling things when possible, and it was really nice to see people interested in the whole idea of kawaii paper magnets. That’s why, for this week’s video, I decided to try my hand at a DIY video tutorial on how to make kawaii paper magnets yourself!

Period: Cube ~Shackles of Amadeus~ Review

Period Cube Shackles of Amadeus Otome Game Review

I’ve always been a fan of stories about someone trapped inside an MMO, so when I heard Aksys Games was localizing Period: Cube ~Shackles of Amadeus~, I was thrilled! As an otome game featuring that very premise, Period: Cube centers around a high school girl that gets trapped in the MMO Arcadia. After searching for clues of her missing brother’s whereabouts, all signs point to the mysterious “World V,” a new server in Arcadia where death is absolute. If your character dies, you die!

2017 Snow Miku Nendoroid Unboxing Video

8 / 8 / 17

Long time no post! I’m really excited to be getting back into the groove now that my thesis has been submitted, and that means more videos! I got a new camera, a Canon EOS M3, so hopefully the quality of my videos will be much better going forward, too!

Today’s video is an unboxing of the 2017 Snow Miku Nendoroid, which I preordered back in February and just received in the mail about a week ago. If you’re not familiar with the Snow Miku figures, Good Smile Company holds a contest every year for fans to submit their designs. The winning design is made into a Nendoroid and a figma!

Snow Miku is closely tied with Hokkaido’s Snow Festival, so the contest themes are related to various aspects of Hokkaido (Snow Miku’s animal friend is based on a type of mountain hare native to Hokkaido!). This year’s theme was “the starry sky/winter constellations in Hokkaido,” and this was the first year the winning design was chosen entirely by online voters!

Please leave a comment with kind of videos you’d like to see more of! (either here or on Youtube is fine) My goal is to upload one video a week! Your feedback helps keep me motivated!

8 / 2 / 17

Mech games Community Game-Along

Hello August! Though it’s always sad to see JRPG July go, it’s time to move on to yet another Community Game-Along event. This month we’ll be focusing on mech games, or any games featuring big robots that you can control! Of course, there’s always classic mech series such as Armored Core and MechWarrior, but even Kirby’s recent 3DS venture, Kirby: Planet Robobot counts for this month’s theme!

Hello everyone! If you follow me on social media (If not, I’m most active on Twitter and Instagram, so give me a follow!), you’ll know that for the past couple of months I’ve been scrambling to finish up my PhD dissertation. Things will be back to normal after I submit in just over a week and take a short break to restore my energy reserves!

For now, here are a few of my favorite/noteworthy posts for you to catch up on if you’re looking for something to read. Thanks for your patience, and I look forward to getting back to my regular schedule soon!
