3 / 31 / 193 / 31 / 19

Now that we’re a third of the way through 2019, it may seem silly to still be looking back at 2018. But the truth is, there’s so much great media from 2018 that I’m still catching up!

While I probably won’t ever be completely caught up on all the games I want to play, manga I want to read, and anime I want to watch, I feel that at this point I’ve been able to sample the 2018 releases I was most interested in and deliver a list of my favorite media from the year.

So, if you’re looking for some new media to check out, read on to see what I found most memorable from 2018!

Complete List of English Otome Games for PS Vita Chic Pixel

Sady, after an eight-year run, the PS Vita’s life has come to an end. As of this week, consoles have officially stopped being produced in Japan, well after units (and games!) became hard to find on shelves overseas.

Perhaps you’re like me and loved the PS Vita for its extensive range of otome games, even in English. Or, maybe you’ve been on the fence about getting a PS Vita and want to know if it’s worth the purchase just for the English otome games available. To help you on your quest, no matter what it may be, I’ve compiled a list of all English PS Vita otome games, both physical and digital!

Sweet Pool Review

Sweet Pool review Chic Pixel

Sweet Pool, the first of JAST Blue’s Nitro+chiral BL game localizations, is finally out in English! Not only did I have the very exciting opportunity to contribute very slightly to its release as a PR consultant, but I’m thrilled to share my thoughts on the full game with you in this review. It’s not often we get an official English BL game release, so Sweet Pool‘s release is definitely cause for excitement!

When the news was first announced that Sweet Pool was going to come out in English in time for its 10th anniversary, I was thrilled, albeit surprised. As the first Nitro+chiral game to come out officially in English, it’s a rather interesting choice… because Sweet Pool is quite notorious for its dark horror themes and grotesque, body horror elements. So, while Sweet Pool is billed as a BL game, I would recommend anyone interested in it solely for the BL elements to tread with caution.
