What to do with $40 PSN credit?

Courtesy of the lovely editor-and-chief at Video Game Writers, I have recently come into possession of $40 worth of Playstation Network credit! Now the big question is: what am I going to spend it on? Right now, my head seems to be full of Playstation classics…

These are just a few of the titles I thought of first, none of which I have ever played. There are still others, such as Bomberman Fantasy Race, that I used to own and wouldn’t mind getting a chance to play again.

Since I can’t decide, I open the floor to you, lovely readers, for suggestions! I’m sure most of you reading this already know my gaming tastes, so hit me with your best shot! I wouldn’t mind some PSP games, either. If I end up picking one of your suggestions I’ll dedicate a post to it, with a special shout-out to you, as well.

About Anne

Also known as apricotsushi. Anne can be written with the kanji for apricot (杏), and sushi was the most quintessentially Japanese thing I could think of when I was 13, resulting in my goofy, albeit memorable, nickname.

  1. Oh, this is a hard one, Anne, esp. since I don’t know how many PS1 games you already have or have already played.

I’m sad to admit that although I own a copy of Legend of Mana, I’ve only played it long enough to know the game is gorgeous. I’ve heard good things about it, though, so you probably can’t go wrong with it.

I’ve never played Alundra either, although I remember it being kind of Zelda-esque, right? Another game with good word-of-mouth, as far as I can remember.

I’ve never played *any* of the Harvest Moon games — weird, right? — so I can’t help you there, either. I really need to change that soon, by the way, as I’m sure I’d like the series.

So, I’m not going to be of much help to you, I guess. I’m very much looking forward to hearing what you pick up, though!

  2. I find that the Harvest Moon games lend themselves to portables pretty well, so I’d vote for one of the other 2. Wanted to play the Mana games myself 🙂

  3. Hey Bryan, don’t worry at all! Do you have any other suggestions, perhaps of any PSP games I could get from the PSN that I might not have picked up? How about that one… How May I Serve You, My Lord? or something like that? Would you recommend that series?

I can’t believe you’ve never played any of the Harvest Moon games, either! I’ve always wanted to try one since I like Animal Crossing, but I never know which to pick, there are so many!

I’m going to be nabbing at least one thing today for our insanely long plane flight from Sydney to Vermont tomorrow, so I’ll let you know what I get!

  4. Thanks for the comment, Samantha!

I’ve always wanted to try the Mana series, so I might go for Legend of Mana 🙂 But you know, you can actually play the Playstation Classics downloaded on the PSN on your PSP as well as PS3, so I could play Harvest Moon on my PSP! But perhaps you mean the versions originally created for portable systems would be better?
