Wonder Festival is an amazing bi-yearly event for fans of Japanese figures, and this year’s winter Wonder Festival was no different! Just like last year, I wanted to round up some of my favorite announcements from the event. For the full rundown of all of the announcements from all the major companies, I highly recommend checking out Plastikitty’s Wonder Festival 2018 Winter coverage. Now, on to my own personal highlights!
Oh, 2017! I don’t think I’m the only one who was ready for 2017 to be over come December 31st. At the same time, there were a couple of really great things that happened to me in 2017! In lieu of separate favorite games/anime/whatever of 2017 posts, I’ve decided to round up all my favorites into an all-encompassing Best of 2017 post. I’ll share my favorite media of the year, but also some personal milestones, favorite products, and blog posts. I know it’s a little late, but I hope you enjoy it all the same!
The Black Friday sales madness is upon us! It can be pretty hectic trying to make sense of all the different deals going on, especially if you’re trying to pick up Christmas, Hanukkah, or other holiday presents for people (or maybe December birthday folks like me!). That’s why, I thought I’d share some of my favorite items in my TeePublic Curator Store that you can pick up during TeePublic’s Black Friday sale! That makes this a great companion post to my holiday gift guide – be sure to check that out, too, if you haven’t already!
I also got my hands on some of TeePublic’s newer homeware items (including that amazing pillow in the header image), so I’ll be sharing photos and thoughts on those, as well! Read on for lots of awesome nerdy gifts that also help support independent artists!
The holiday season is coming up fast, so that means it’s time for a new Chic Pixel Holiday Gift Guide! Each year I round up my favorite cute and nerdy gift suggestions for every budget. This year, I’ve decided to break my suggestions into two categories: “For the Video Game Fan” and “For the Anime Fan.” Many of the links included are affiliate links, so by clicking on them to make your holiday purchases, you’re also helping to support Chic Pixel! Thanks for spreading the holiday cheer!
So you’ve decided to learn Japanese to play all those otome games that haven’t been released in English (not to mention other games!). Good for you! But what games are best for beginning language learners? I get a lot of questions about learning Japanese, particularly from people who want to play otome games because so few of them are available in English. So, I decided to round up 5 otome games that I think are good for Japanese language students!
Hello everyone! If you follow me on social media (If not, I’m most active on Twitter and Instagram, so give me a follow!), you’ll know that for the past couple of months I’ve been scrambling to finish up my PhD dissertation. There’s been a bit of a dip in my posting schedule because of that… But never fear! Things will be back to normal after I submit in just over a week and take a short break to restore my energy reserves!
For now, here are a few of my favorite/noteworthy posts for you to catch up on if you’re looking for something to read. Thanks for your patience, and I look forward to getting back to my regular schedule soon!
Who doesn’t love a good top 10 list? I’ve been meaning to share a roundup of my favorite anime opening themes for ages! Lately I’ve been swamped with thesis work, which has resulted in me not having much energy/time for blogging, which subsequently has me thinking about doing lists more than usual. I know some people can take them or leave them, so I hope you don’t mind!
Today I’m sharing my favorite anime opening themes of all time, which goes all the way back to some of the first anime series I ever watched. But let me tell you, it was seriously hard to narrow this list down to just 10! Here’s what made the cut…
