Visiting the Melbourne Kit Kat Chocolatory

Kit Kat Chocolatory Melbourne

I’m something of a fiend when it comes to special Kit Kat flavors, to the extend that there was no way I was going to miss the Kit Kat Chocolatory in Tokyo when I was there last in 2014. When I heard they opened another location in Melbourne, Australia, back in October, I knew I had… Read More

Sake Kit Kat Giveaway

Sake Kit Kats are the latest in Japan-exclusive Kit Kat flavors, and after covering them back in February, I simply had to get my hands on a box! Not only did I get one for myself, but I also got one extra to give away to a lucky reader! Check out my Apricotsushi Samples tasting… Read More

Kit Kat Chocolatory Tokyo Chic Pixel

On my last trip to Japan, I pledged that I wouldn’t leave the country before visiting the Kit Kat Chocolatory, a one-of-a-kind store in Tokyo that sells Kit Kat flavors you can’t find anywhere else. Well, a whole year and a half later, I’m happy to say I did visit it, and I even tried… Read More

Japan Envy: Sake Kit Kats

Sake Kit Kat

As regular readers of Chic Pixel are well aware, I am a huge fan of Japanese Kit Kats. Well, Nestlé Japan has just announced that the latest in exclusive Japanese Kit Kat flavors is none other than nihonshuu, or the classic Japanese alcohol sake! According to Rocket News 24, these special Kit Kats contain “sake powder which… Read More

Watch me eat sakura matcha Kit Kats in my new video series

1 / 20 / 144 / 18 / 15

It’s not a secret that I love Japanese candy. In fact, I’ve written some strangely in-depth posts about interesting Japanese candy a few times in the past, but unfortunately I’ve noticed that they tend to not get nearly as much traction as my other, non-food posts. Of course, the most obvious reason for this would… Read More

Taste Test: Otona no Amasa Matcha Kit Kat

4 / 23 / 134 / 18 / 15

Welcome to the latest Chic Pixel Taste Test! Today, I’ve finally gotten around to trying the “Otona no Amasa,” or “sweetness for adults,” matcha Kit Kats, which were launched in Japan in 2012. Don’t be put off by the name – this isn’t some kind of X-rated Kit Kat flavor, but rather part of a… Read More

Taste Test: Kyoto Matcha Kit Kats

7 / 27 / 124 / 18 / 15

I’ve been meaning to do a post about these ever since a friend of mine brought me a pack back from Japan, but the truth is, I’m not really sure what to say for a Kit Kat taste test. I know, have some matcha flavored Kit Kats! What exactly is matcha flavor? Basically it’s a… Read More

The misunderstanding about what doujin(shi) is makes me sad. Doujin basically means indie (the “shi” is for books/zines/comics). Not all of it is porn or even based off of existing series.

There’s an entire event in Japan where people sell their original doujin works!
